Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 19 August 2026 Last updated: 19 August 2026
These terms govern bookings made with Quick Maxi Cab by phone, online, by message or in person. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Introduction and acceptance of terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Quick Maxi Cab website and the taxi, maxi cab and transfer booking services we provide ("Services"). Quick Maxi Cab ("we", "us", "our") operates a booking service for maxi taxis, cabs and airport transfers in Melbourne and surrounding areas of Victoria.
By booking a trip with us — whether online, by phone, by message or in person — or by using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or book our Services. We may update these Terms from time to time, and the version published on this website at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
Our services
Quick Maxi Cab arranges and provides passenger transport, including maxi taxi hire for groups, standard cab trips, wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV) travel, and fixed-fare airport transfers to and from Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine), Avalon Airport and other destinations across Victoria. Vehicle types, seating capacity and availability vary and are subject to demand at the time of booking.
We aim to provide a safe, reliable and timely service. While we make every reasonable effort to meet requested pickup times, all times are estimates and are not guaranteed, as travel is affected by factors outside our control (see Liability and limitations below).
Bookings and quotes
A booking is made when you request a trip by phone, online, by message or in person, and we confirm it. A booking is only confirmed once you receive confirmation from us — an unconfirmed request does not guarantee a vehicle. Please provide accurate pickup and destination details, passenger numbers, luggage, flight numbers (for airport transfers) and any special requirements (such as a wheelchair-accessible vehicle or child restraint) at the time of booking.
Where we provide a fixed-fare quote, that price is based on the trip details you give us at the time of booking. Fixed-fare quotes may be subject to change if the trip details change — for example, a different pickup or drop-off point, additional stops, extra passengers or luggage, longer waiting time, or a materially different route.
Fares and payment
We accept the following payment methods: cash, credit/debit card, EFTPOS, Cabcharge, and the Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) subsidy for eligible cardholders.
Payment is due at the completion of your trip unless we agree otherwise in advance (for example, prepaid or account bookings).
Where a fixed fare is quoted and stated to be all-inclusive, it includes tolls and GST where indicated. Metered fares are charged in accordance with the maximum fares set by the relevant Victorian regulator, plus any applicable tolls, levies and surcharges.
Cancellations and no-shows
If you need to cancel or change a booking, please tell us as early as possible so we can reallocate the vehicle.
A "no-show" occurs where the vehicle arrives at the confirmed pickup point at the booked time and the passenger cannot be located or does not travel within a reasonable waiting period.
Changes to your booking
You may request changes to a confirmed booking — such as pickup time, address, passenger numbers or vehicle type — by contacting us. We will do our best to accommodate changes, subject to availability. Changes to trip details may affect your fare (see Bookings and quotes above), and significant changes may require a new quote or a new booking.
Waiting time and extra stops
Some waiting time may be included in your booking; additional waiting time and unscheduled extra stops may incur an additional charge.
Child restraints and accessibility
Under Victorian road safety law, children must be secured in an approved and correctly fitted child restraint appropriate for their age and size. Parents, guardians and accompanying adults are responsible for ensuring the correct child restraint is used and correctly fitted for their child. Please tell us your child’s age when booking so we can arrange a suitable capsule, seat or booster where available.
We offer wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs) subject to availability and accept the Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) subsidy for eligible passengers. Please request an accessible vehicle at the time of booking so we can allocate the right vehicle.
Passenger conduct and safety
For everyone’s safety, passengers must wear seatbelts at all times, follow the driver’s reasonable safety instructions, and comply with all applicable road-safety laws. We ask passengers to treat drivers and vehicles with respect.
We may refuse or end a trip where a passenger behaves in a manner that is unsafe, abusive, unlawful or that puts the driver, other passengers or the vehicle at risk.
Luggage and lost property
Please advise the number and size of bags when booking so we can allocate a vehicle with enough room, particularly for airport transfers and group travel. Passengers are responsible for their own luggage and personal belongings during the trip.
If you leave an item in one of our vehicles, contact us as soon as possible and we will make reasonable efforts to locate and return it.
Liability and limitations
We will provide our Services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Pickup and arrival times are estimates only. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for delays, missed flights, missed connections or other losses caused by factors outside our reasonable control — including traffic, roadworks, weather, accidents, vehicle breakdown or events beyond our control. We recommend allowing ample time for airport transfers and time-critical trips.
This clause must be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before publishing.
Privacy
We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it and your rights. Please read our Privacy Policy at https://quickmaxicab.com.au/privacy-policy/.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. You and Quick Maxi Cab submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and any courts able to hear appeals from them.
